Very good experience for me to work within a group again. It's been about 3 decades since I put aside my paintbrush, and I find that if you don't use it, you lose it. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the instructor was friendly and stopped by often to help individuals as needed. I had a few basic primary watercolors by Winsor Newton, and I am able to mix secondary colors. It would have been helpful, however, to have a list of the specific colors that were used for the portrait lesson, because I need to buy those now.

Linda Patrick
Hello, I am Linda Patrick and am the new watercolor teacher. I started painting ten years ago when I was assigned a position assisting with an art therapy group at a mental health hospital. I had never thought of myself as a visual artist before but soon discovered a love for it. I started looking for ways to grow and learn as an artist. I began immersing myself in art podcasts, YouTube videos, books, classes both in person and online, as well as networking with other artists. I have recently been practicing acrylics and oils, but I still come back to watercolor painting. I love learning new ways to experiment with watercolor paints. I continue to learn and grow in my art skills, and I am passionate about helping others do the same.

I have only been painting about 3 years. My friend Frankie, best man, walks the beach and pier in Pompano Beach Florida every morning! He named the two Pelicans he sees most mornings, Pel and Ican.. I?ve wanted to try to paint a bird so he held my feet to the fire to paint Pel.. I am pretty proud of him and less scared to share my art work. &10084&65039

I live outside of Nashville but rarely spend any time downtown. I recently spent some time walking around and taking pictures. This area is iconic with Tootsies and the Batman building. I added the guy with the hat for interest.

I am a self taught watercolorist. I started a year ago December. I love the different elements of focus using the bokeh technique. I am not a huge fan of the color pink but found inspiration in the winters pink sunsets. If you are interested in how I created this or my supplies I used please feel free to reach out. This is painted in my Hemlock and Honey Art Journal an old, used book transformed into a watercolor journal!

Title or Location: Springtime at Ault Park Pavilion
My Ault Park Pavilion painting was inspired by a perfect spring day when my husband and I wandered beneath the cherry blossoms at Ault Park. He paused to take photos of the blooms while I soaked in the beauty of the pavilion I?ve always loved?its arches, its history, its quiet elegance. That peaceful moment together, surrounded by soft pink petals and the architecture I adore, became the heart of this piece.
